1999 custom made hand tooled leather chaise by Linda Eastman

Description: A Fabulous hand ordered and custom made hand tooled leather chaise lounge by the talented artist Linda Sue Eastman. please visit her website at www.eastmanstudios.com if you are interested in her work and she is still working on a commission only basis. We contacted the artist about this piece and she remembers that is was sold to a client in 1999 for between $4000-5000. Her prices are considerably higher now as she is now quite an accomplished artist. A brief statement from her home page reads: "As an artist, I have always intended my work to go beyond the visual - to tempt the fingertip, the hand, the senses, if not the whole body. In my artwork I strive to combine the beauty of rarefied objects with the utility of day to day living. They are serviceable, domestic objects, but have classic, refined shapes."

I incorporate many materials - tooled leather, suede, horsehair, pigment and hardwood. The materials have their own appealing textures - the impressions and cuts in the tooled leather, the softness of the suede, the flow of the horsehair, the hardness of the wood - that all contrast and compliment each other but combine into a unified whole.

Condition: Good condition with age appropriate wear and abrasions to the side leather.
